The West End’s underground club, The End, celebrated the return of Layo and Bushwacka! this past weekend with an album launch party.
Missed all the action this time but I did catch their boat party in NY in the summer. I’m sure the dancefloor was thronged once again with tee-wearing hipsters like in the clip below. Love the Jesus Was Black tee.
Open air Sunday groovy Sundays came to an end yesterday with the last Secretsundaze of the season at the rooftop of Canvas, the derelict clubbing depot that’s shutting down for the King’s Cross regeneration.
The place was heaving and the music was pumping heavy beats of high tech soul when I arrived. Unfortunately, 6pm was a tad late to join a packed afternoon party. WHP 2007 kicks off this weekend below Piccadilly Station in Manchester. The opener featuring Layo & Bushwacka, Felix Da Housecat and AVH is already sold out. Fortunately major acts keep rolling in for the next 3 months: John Digweed, Jeff Mills, Steve Lawler, David Guetta, and the list goes on. My weekends are filling up, but looks like I’m good for the weekend of 19 Oct.
We know the rankings are just a popularity contest but it’s still fun to play along. Voting closes in just a few hours, so support your favourite DJ or music producer now! If you’re not sure who to enter just pick 5 names from our Vinyl House t-shirt.
